Yes. Laminate and wooden worktops can be wrapped in stone, marble and woodgrain films. Here's what's involved and how to look after them.
The short answer
Most laminate and solid wood worktops can be wrapped. The film is laid across the top, wrapped round the front edge and trimmed neatly at the wall and around sinks and hobs.
Joins and cut-outs
Long runs and corners may need a join. We plan these so they sit where they're least noticeable, and seal around sinks and hobs so water can't get under the film.
Which finishes work best
Marble, terrazzo, concrete and woodgrain films are the most popular. Matt and textured finishes hide everyday marks better than high gloss.
When a worktop can't be wrapped
Swollen, split or water-damaged worktops need repairing or replacing first. We'll tell you at the survey if a worktop isn't suitable.
