Solar control film can make a conservatory usable on sunny days. Here's which film to choose and which side of the glass it goes on.
The short answer
A solar control film reflects a large share of the sun's heat before it builds up inside. For conservatory roofs and glass extensions, an external film usually performs best.
Inside or outside?
External films stop heat before it passes through the glass, so they're the strongest option for roofs and double glazing. Internal films are protected from the weather and suit most standard windows.
Glare and fading
Solar films also cut glare and block UV, which helps stop floors and furniture fading.
